Customer Reviews
The Grimm Library at Humboldt University is a true gem for students seeking an inspiring and focused study environment. Its modern and innovative architecture, characterized by extensive use of glass, creates a spacious and bright atmosphere. One of the standout features is the ability to look out across different study areas, offering a sense of connectedness while maintaining a quiet space for deep concentration. The library spans multiple levels, each offering a variety of seating options, from individual desks to communal tables, making it easy to find a spot that suits your study preferences. The vast collection of literature is impressive and provides excellent support for students working on their theses or academic projects. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. The library seats to the windows are primarily accessible to Humboldt students, and you will need a valid student ID to enter. There are sometimes not enough lockers and you have to bring your own lock. Additionally, access to the internet requires a VPN connection, so make sure you have that set up beforehand. Overall, the Grimm Library is a good place for serious study, combining architectural beauty with a wealth of academic resources. Just come prepared with your Humboldt credentials and VPN since it often is overcrowded.
Then its also really cold inside and for some nonsense reason jackets are not allowed in?! I understand they dont want food, drinks or bags, but banning jackets feels like pointless chicane, probably to reduce students as this place is always overcrowded - expecially on Sundays when other libraries are closed or have limited service. Well and that leads to the only good thing about this place - the opening hours are amazing and the location is very central. Its just a pity so much potential was waisted here
Good atmosphere.
Very good place for students and people who are looking for a place to work from.
