I happened to go there as i had confused the address with another notary, but the secretary was directly rude and cold and could not wait to send me away …not even looking at the calendar if they have future appointments ….. i am very happy to get my notary services elsewhere anyway

It’s a pleasure to work with Dr. Hanke, who is representing me on an international custody agreement. As someone who isn’t a German citizen and is unfamiliar with German law and the German language, I faced significant challenges. He explained what my rights were, how the law is structured, and reassured me that not being from a European country wouldn’t tilt the playing field against me. Dr. Hanke’s perfect command of English, combined with his deep understanding of both US and German family law, is making this process much easier for me to navigate. He’s accessible and empathetic, and I couldn’t be more grateful for his assistance.

Dealing with Andreas Hanke was frustrating and stressful. Yes, he can come across as charming, yes, he gave the impression that he knew what he was talking about, but, it gradually became apparent that there was a lot of talk and very little action. He mentioned many things that he thought would help my case but then never acted upon any of them. There always seemed to be a handy excuse for not giving me the help I desperately needed and sometimes he took weeks to respond to me. He also kept reminding me that his fees (and those of other German lawyer’s) were much lower than those of lawyers in the UK. I guess it was his way of suggesting that I didn’t really have any grounds for complaint. Perhaps this should have been a warning to me.

Here are some of the issues that I had with Andreas:
1. He failed to present evidence to the court that was important to my case.

2. He didn’t advise me properly on how to prepare for the German family court assessment.

3. He didn’t give me clear and detailed guidance on the German court documents that I was receiving and that I was unable to translate. He advised me to use Deepl translation app. Some of these court documents were written in a legal German that my German friends found difficult to translate.

5. His tactic was to rely on my child’s mother showing her difficult and unstable character to the assessor. She had displayed this in the first court session. I felt this was a risky and unreliable way to fight the case. He was essentially relying on her losing the case, rather than us trying to win it.

6. He was difficult to contact and made me feel like he did not have time to talk to me when I did manage to contact him. He once even told me that mine was not the most important case and that he was currently dealing with a child abduction.

I emailed these concerns to Andreas a few weeks ago. Rather than address the concerns directly his response was typically evasive. He said that he was passionate about his job and that I should look to myself for the blame rather than blaming others. He also said I should spend my time being a better father to my son.

My advice would be to avoid using Andreas Hanke. I don’t know what the rest of the team at Sawal Schüller Hanke are like but I realised too late that Andreas was always telling me what I wanted to hear only to let me down when I really need him.

I believe his professional behaviour fell well short of what should be expected of lawyer. I would still like to know why the court failed to address my concerns in the appeal. I would also like to know why the judge seemed to ignore my evidence when I read it out in court. It seems that if I want answers to these questions I will need to employ another lawyer to continue my fight for my son. #andreashanke #sawalschullerhanke

Thanks to the firm Sawal, Schüller, and Hanke I was able to successfully get my children back after my ex-wife kidnapped them. Dr. Hanke in particular is extremely knowledgeable regarding international child law and was more than helpful. While I hope no one ever has to go through an International parental kidnapping case if you do and the children are in Germany I would highly recommend them!

Unfriendly, incompetent, unhelpful – never again.

I came to notarize a few documents for an international 8-digit financial transaction with time pressure. When I let them know that I need 3x copies of some standard docs plus a witnessing of me signing one specific document in english they let me know that I needed another appointment for that and that english documents are out of the norm for them. I friendly asked if we could somehow get this done today given it wouldn’t cost more than 5 minutes to to this, they denied and said ‘another day’. Frustrated and with no help to figure out my problem I left the room. When I left the building a saw one of the 2x notaries leaving the building to take a walk with his dog. Clear priorities.

Very bad. We inquired about the cost about 5 times via phone calls, e-mails, and in person. Elke Seeger said “it depends on what you want to write in the contract at our appointment.” Her assistant even said over the phone that judging from my case maybe just a few hundred euro. I expected it to be 2 to 3 hundreds Euro. I felt unsure. Elke Seeger made an appointment, in another words, tricked us to the appointment then said it’d cost around 1200 Euro. I asked, what if I want to cancel now? She asked me to pay half. Lair! Please don’t go to her.

She has offered an appointment in one month, which is very slow , for a start. After one month – just one day before our appointment – she has cancelled and asked us to check the company name with the IHK. This surely could have been done in the month passed. I find this attitude completely unprofessional and disrespectful.

I left some negative feedback here because of my bad experience but I removed it because she threatened to sue me. I sincerely recommend you avoid working with Elke Seeger.

Herr Ra. Böhme ist ein sehr integer Rechtsanwalt. Es gibt Anwälte die arbeiten für Ihr Konto und es gibt Anwälte die arbeiten für den Mandanten. Herr R. Böhme arbeitet für den Mandanten. Herr Böhme ist nur zu empfehlen ,er hat mich 2 mal vertreten und jedes Mal den Prozess gewonnen. Weiter so, leider kann ich nur 5 Sterne vergeben.

Von A bis Z lief es sehr gut. Herr Böhme ist immer engagiert. Seine Kollegen waren genauso hilfsbereit und kompetent. Der gesamte Kontakt war einfach harmonisch. Insgesamt hatten wir positive und konstruktive Gespräche. Auch vor Gericht hat er die Sachlage klar dargestellt und die Gegenseite Hinterfragt. Ich werde gerne wieder zurück kommen, sollte ich noch einmal Herausforderungen mit einem Arbeitgeber haben. Ich hoffe nicht. An das gesamte Team weiter so.

Ich hatte mit der Kanzlei zu tun in Sachen Familienrecht. Man klärte mich nicht sofort über die Kosten auf und man sagte ich habe keine Chance. Nachdem ich einen anderen Anwalt hatte habe ich doch gewonnen. Sind Anscheind sehr negativ eingestellt. Es gibt in Berlin gute Anwälte das aber sehe ich in der Kanzlei nicht.

I went to this Notar to have a document for the US embassy filled out. Upon arriving at the designated appointment time I was told I wouldn’t get the signed document the same day. When I returned days later to pick up the document, it wasn’t filled out completely and couldn’t be used and the law firm refused to complete the form or reduce their charges for a task that was never finished.

I had a very disappointing experience with this notary office. When I called to inquire about getting a notary stamp for an important legal document, the staff member didn’t even allow me to explain my full request before cutting me off. I was told that the next available appointment is in November, but instead of offering to schedule one in advance, I was simply told to call back or send an email later. The lack of professionalism and customer service was frustrating, especially given the importance of my request. I expected more from a notary office, and unfortunately, this experience did not meet my expectations.
