I went to club matrix with 2 friends, because we read that this was the best option when other clubs were closed. To be honest, it is really a place for tourists, if you don’t mind that’s fine. To get in you pay 10 euros and the cloakroom is €2 (per piece of clothing???) and a very unfriendly girl. The drinks are not too expensive, but of course more soft drinks than spirits. We went around 22:00 because we read that women can drink for free until 23:00. So you get a voucher for 10 euros to drink something (but that is only valid for 1 drink so choose wisely). We left at 00:20 because there was a very strange vibe. Young looking girls (18/20 years old) dancing very “sexually” with quite old men. In short, it was not our thing, but if you like commercial clubs and music and like to be among tourists, it is a good option.

Not worth it. Very small, DJing was horrible. Music flip-flopped back and forth between 2000s-pop, reggaeton, hip-hop with no actual transitions but playing just one song after another, sometimes even generating pauses, switching between different rhythms and no noticeable concept of music. Mist people did not actually dance. Drinks were watery and even having had one single Longdrink only, I was sick to my stomach the whole day after. The one star above 1 goes for friendly staff and cleanliness which was pretty good.

It was a good club with good music.
If you look for a club that you can enter every time than the Matrix it is.
I was two times in the club and I can say that it didn’t flash me so much, but for my stay in Berlin, it was acceptable.

But everyone has to judge it for itself.

I really loved this place.
Unlike many other clubs in Berlin, the Matrix allows everyone in. We paid 10€ for the entrance (2 girls), but our male friend paid 15€ I don’t know if it was an accident or they have gender discrimination in that matter.
The bar offers various kinds of drinks, they are all in pretty decent prices especially for a tourists club!
The music was super!! They play Mainstream, but the old school kind which was even better, and they have great remixes for all the songs.

Decent club. Full of geezers to start with, €15 entrance fee, drinks about €9 for a vodka and lemonade. Music, on a Friday was your pop/club music, ok for me. Club was a good smart club. Will pop back. Staff were very helpful and happy

Probably the best club in Berlin, I’ve been here many times and I’m still surprised by how cool this place is. Like the variety of music, the chill areas, the creative decoration.
Of course, like in most of the best clubs in the city, you need to fit into the vibe and dress accordingly, otherwise entry is not guaranteed, but that’s also how the place keeps its standards high and sorts out those who don’t fit into the crowd.

I had an incredible experience at this techno club! The themed decor and stunning light and visual effects created an amazing atmosphere. It was a vibrant, colorful space with a unique vibe. I visited on a Friday, and even with only two stages, both were fantastic! My friends and I felt completely welcomed, with no discrimination at all. The staff and bouncers communicated with us in English, which was great. Just make sure to dress appropriately, and you’ll have no issues getting in. I highly recommend this club for anyone looking for a memorable night out!

It’s a stunning location. Many things to see there it’s kind of like a Psychedelic circus in the heart of Berlin. They even serve good pizza, which is great while partying. The soundsystem there got there is just amazing doesn’t even matter what kind of music they play. But I hope they do more Psychedelic trance.

Always has been and will be my favourite Club. Apart from the many dark places, Sisyphos really leaves up to its name and gives the nights (and days) some extra paint. Have been there countless times and never had any problems with the bouncers. Very open and friendly people in there and its super easy to make new friends. You have some very good house music in there and on another floor more fast and rough techno. Mostly 2-3 floors are open at the same time with many bars being available and a lot of cool places to chill. A truly dreamy place!

I want to give zero star if possible. I am reading the reviews in retrospect now and realizing how unpleasant this place can be in terms of gatekeeper rejecting non-Germans and tourists in general. I didn’t know. I do see that most 1 star reviews are rejects like myself but the gatekeeper didn’t even talk to us, just told us “you are going to have to exit”. It was like a half a second rejection. I was with my husband who is American and I’m Chinese and I’m assuming that’s why, because maybe they just don’t know how crazy we party in Asia. Berlin partying scene is NOTHING compared to Asia. They underestimate the people from other parts of the world instead of trying to allow others into this tiny bubble of Berlin night scene. Good luck!

Once inside it’s like stepping onto another planet! Everyone is so friendly and beautifully souled. The door policy seems extreme but they cater for the misfits, the ones who are normally judged for their looks or their hair or appearance, this is a safe space for all beautifully weird and whacky creatures of the world. Lined up for 5hrs, partied for 18hrs and would do it every weekend if possible. I for one respect the bouncers and their choices, its sets the vibe and atmosphere.

Been there twice, once before Covid and yesterday (12/13/2024). I’ve never been to a better club in Asia, US, and Europe. Negative reviews are from the people not getting in after a long queue (it sucks). Once you got in, it’s a new world. Closest description could be that I felt like my heart was pickled in beats.
Semin Oh

trendy, clean cut, pretty people seem to be rejected. This keeps the hype and the club asprirational. Normal aggressive looking locals who bring their own drinks to the line, seem to get in. Smart strategy, keeps the hype, and avoids this place turning into a tourist trap. The people I wanted to see inside got rejected, so we went to another club that was full.

Normally don’t bother to write reviews but I felt the urge to as I believe this club should be shut down. Came with my friend, we both have a strong passion for techno music and festivals, we are not from here but wanted to go since some of our favorite DJs were performing. We lined up 4 times and got rejected 4 times. We were gutted and annoyed, feeling as if our rights to dance and see our fav DJs were declined. I believe this ridiculous door policy should be removed as it goes against the techno music principle of freedom, equality, and celebration of the music, joy and diversity. I don’t care about the reason why they select the audience, who cares about the audience even? Nobody. Most people who are actually there for the music don’t care about the people there, so this concept is just a selfish concept created from the bouncers and it’s completely nonsense. After this experience I even feel like stepping back from the techno scene as it just gave me a whole negative feeling. That is quite bad, what has techno become? Its not a fashion show, and it most definitely should NOT be a place to be judged by from the bouncers. If not shutdown, then at least they should rename this place to anything other than a techno club. It’s not worth it. I would much rather go to a club where I know I would be treated equally and know that everyone there is not just there because of the hype/so called “sanctuary”. What a loss and petty for them, as me and my friend would have danced crazy as always. Something really needs to be done with the club.

Very cool club if you are true technohead. Just be polite, respectful and you will be let in. Of course German helps a lot and knowing who plays current night can be helpful. Drinks are ok, when you pay for entry it has already Cloak Room service fee covered so you don’t have to pay for it when giving your clothes. The club itself is pretty big, and it is no so loud by the bars. Although smoking is prohibited people do not care, so that’s a minus. Good music if that’s what you are looking for and if you can obey basic clubbing rules

Amazing place to be if you love techno and electro music. Bouncers are really cool, they begin a conversation giving you a chance to get in. Just keep your cool, and casually reply. Personnel is amazing in general. People on the dancefloor don’t bother each other, everyone is there to dance. A must visit in Berlin!

The entrance has to be deserved and it really reflects when you see the people inside. No uncomfy approaches to us (we were 4 girls), just techno and everyone minding their business. Sound system top notch. The only minus is cigarette smoke but it kinda also adds to the 90s vibe. I will come again (hopefully).

I think we found the perfect techno club in Berlin. The vibes were amazing, and the amount of the leather harnesses were just perfect.
We arrived around 22:30 and the line was short. They asked us why we are here tonight, but since we were girls it was easy to get in. Before we entered we had to stick out phone cameras.
The ticket was 22€ and we could pay by card. And the cloackroom was free. We paid 4€ for a beer.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Chamaeleon Theater in Berlin to watch the acrobatic show *WOLF*, and it was a truly unforgettable experience! If you enjoy acrobatic performances, you’re in for a treat—*WOLF* is a mesmerizing blend of physical prowess and artistry that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

The atmosphere in the theater is absolutely lovely, creating an intimate yet exciting environment that enhances the overall experience. The staff are incredibly nice and attentive, adding to the warm and welcoming vibe. The manager was particularly kind, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and that all guests felt comfortable.

One of the unique features of the Chamaeleon Theater is the in-show service provided by the waiters. They offer a perfect menu, allowing you to enjoy a meal or drinks without missing a moment of the performance. I was pleasantly surprised with a welcome rose, which added a special touch to the evening.

The theater’s location is also very convenient, situated on Hackescher Street, an area rich in history and full of interesting sights. Just a short walk from the S-Bahn, it’s easily accessible and surrounded by vibrant shops, cafes, and restaurants. The historic charm of the area adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall experience.

They sold more tickets than they actually had room for. Many had to stand outside… Those who made it in had to endure the concert at ~40 degrees (no joke)… Even the band (Comeback Kid / Hardcore) ran out of energy at some point, as there is absolutely no air conditioning here… Sadly a really bad experience…

Not very exclusive and pretty touristy. Not a huge fan of the venue, it’s def not my fav club in the city, but they sometimes invite big names, which was the only reason I went. Don’t expect the main act to start playing before 2-3am, or maybe even later. It can get uncomfortably crowded later in the night. I am not aware of any dresscode, it’s more like face and vibe check.

It’s probably one of the legendary clubs, accept it.
It’s unique in terms of location, next to the river, you can see the river through the clubs’ window, accept it
Music, if you like techno, you “ll have fun, accept in

BUT I will not accept again,
•standing in the queue for an hour or more
•freezing while waiting
•25 euro entrance without drink
•being afraid of not letting you in
•the impolite behavior of the person in the door

Berlin clubbing culture is fake nowadays.
It supposed that means freedom, you are afraid though of not letting you in or you care about the dress code

I’m not from Berlin but this was the club scene i was looking for. Great Dj’s and lighting with a beautiful view of the river. If you’re sensitive to smoke then stay away. Great crowd and great people that worked the front and coat check. Make sure to hit up any of the last shows before it closes.

Just came back from Miss Monique gig!
I understand the negative reviews here because most of the stags were turned around! It’s mostly visited by tourists i believe because vibe here was kind of missing. People were not respecting each other space and shirtless guys were desperately seeking for single girls (definitely not here for the music).
Still the location and two dance floors meet the hype. Jacket store is 2€ and Bier is 4.5(only cash). My suggestion to my stag brothers: please try to get in with a girl or carry the vibe and personality else the entry chances are less even if you have the tickets.

PS: two guys were still making the video despite no camera policy. Please respect the rules.. cheers!

This place is discriminating people. Some girls and boys were allowed without any inquiry. But we were denied with a funny and not persuasive answer about “we don’t let people buy with cash now” – though anyone that stood before us were in and payed without any questions.
This discrimination is disgusting and unacceptable.
A Terrible place and terrible staff, that disrespected us. When we explained to the bodyguard that arrived that everyone before us entered without questions and that this is discrimination he just replied: “I didn’t see that, I were in the toilet”.
Btw – we waited over an hour just to be denied and discriminated.
Consider coming to such a place.

I go to Berlin clubs a lot and have been to most of the famous clubs. I went here for free because I was on the guest list.
This place has a terrible layout and rooms are very uncomfortable to be in. It’s basically a residential building turned into a club with very small bedroom size dance floors and low ceiling. There are uneven surfaces in the dark places that people trip over it. It’s just not inaccessible to people with disability, it’s dangerous for able body people too!

The vibe is always off and people are weird. Always lots of non locals and creepy dudes staring at women and lots of people that have no idea what going to a techno club is about. Locals that I know always try to avoiding this place because of the crowd and also music selection.

The staff are extremely rude and unfriendly. I’ve never seen the staff being so unnecessarily aggressive. They assumed I am taking a photo (while the stickers are still on the phone) and physically assaulted me and refused to acknowledge that they made a mistake.

Drinks are overpriced and everything takes for ever.

I had a very bad experience the with the bouncer at the door the night of the 24.12. There was a young women working there at the door that night. She was very impolite and rude. She even didn’t gave the chance to talk and rejected me and my friend immediately. We were both in the skip line and she even didn’t take that into consideration, she just had not valid reason to not let us in. I had the feeling only because my friend was not German, she rejected us, which make me to believe she was racist. After trying to talk with the other bouncers at the door the acted the same way trying to protect her.
People like her shouldn’t work at the door. Very disappointed to see this after being in inside Renate for more than 20 times in last 5 years.

I went in Christmas I had fun thanks to the dj’s that night, but the bouncers where super rude to me afterwards, there was no reason for that. I had been in several clubs in Berlin and this from far the most rudeness and less caring where I had been. Not coming back after that… such a shame for an Historic venue.

I appreciate the DIY feel of the place but it doesn’t feel like a professional space. The outdoor space looked like a collection of abandoned projects, the indoor space felt like a group of friends bought an abandoned apartment building, gutted the rooms, and made a club.

Very similar music in each room, though the rooms are close enough to each other that you can hear one from the other. Something about the shape or material of the rooms makes all of the music sound harsh; I like my music loud but this felt grating. Not much going on for lighting effects.

Bar prices were ok and the staff was friendly. No questions from the bouncer on a Saturday night, though the line was long and slow.

This felt like a place for tourists, and I say this as a happy tourist. Everybody we saw, heard, talked to in line were American or English. And I don’t mind a tourist experience but this felt like something I could have experienced anywhere else.

As others have mentioned, something was off about the vibes inside. Creepy dudes giving off the impression of lurking. Hard to put a finger on it and I’m sure hard to control as a venue.

It was a very good time to gather with my niece (Mexican) who has been living in Berlin for 5 years with her husband (German) and I was visiting for the weekend with my boyfriend (British).

We were walking all day having a Berliner experience in the city, and we met at this amazing bar in front of the night club we were planning to go. Everything was going well until we got to the queue to get into the night club. A guy on our side was wearing a football t-shirt and the bouncer (lady) asked him to change it as it was not allowed it in the club. However, they allowed him and his friends in the club.

My niece, her husband and I were speaking in Spanish, and when we were next to get in the club, the bouncer (lady) asked us if we had been there before. As 2 non-local people, we answered we hadn’t. She asked if we were drinking before, to which we answered, we had but not too much. Then, she asked us were we were from and we answered from Mexico, London and Berlin respectively. Next act, she said, this is not your night and with no explanation, she didn’t allow us to get in.

It was a very unpleasant situation. And it was clear that the bouncer was racist. Apparently, many German people haven’t learned from history events that racism makes them awful people.

Customer Reviews
I was super excited to check this place out for the first time. However, I was quite disappointed to not even be let in. I very rarely have problems getting into a club. I am well behaved and sober waiting in line and my intentions when going out are to dance as much as possible and enjoy music of all kinds. After waiting quite some time in the cold, my friend and I made it up to the bouncer. She had a problem with me before I even said anything. Her tone towards me was very hostile and it felt as though she was interrogating me. Despite the fact that she did not question ANY of the people in front of me, I answered all of her questions politely and honestly (if I’d been there before, why I was there, etc). I am not one to complain and often give people the benefit of the doubt but the way in which she denied my friend and I was very unjustified. My friend also noticed her rude behavior, mentioning how it seemed she just didn’t like me and was looking for any reason to deny me entry. I was really hoping to have a great night here, especially since I had several other friends attending as well. I am not sure if I’ll bother with this club again considering all the other friendly and welcoming clubs in the area where I have never encountered such a problem.

We were 2 french and went on a saturday night to see a specific artist. We entered early, 11.30pm or so and nobody was queuing. Bouncer asked politely for an id, looked our pockets and let us in. There are two rooms, music was pretty good and the place wasnt overcrowed. Good vibes overall, I recommend.

Bad entrance queue situation. Didn’t seem much point to buying tickets in advance as both lines were huge. Very dark and can be very muddy after rain. The music was alright but there’s much better.
