If i can give it 0 i would, the absolute worst repair service i have ever come across. But i will leave 1 star for the salesperson, at least he was helpful. The repair department was so unfriendly.

My bike was vandalised 1 week after I bought the bike at Zweirad, I told them very clearly there are 3 broken parts that I need them to fix: 1) the bike chain was loose, 2) the black chain cover was broken, 3) the backwheel mudshield is bent. They said the chain is easy to fix but the other 2 bike parts are not in stock so I might have to wait.

I waited 1 week and they said it’s fixed, I was super excited to pick up the bike, until I realised I am paying them 150euro to basically put the chain back on and “centralising the front & back wheels” (which I know for sure weren’t even broken to begin with). The mudshield was barely un-bent and cover cover is still broken.

The extremely unfriendly receptionist told me I can either not take the bike back, or add another 100euro to get a new chain cover + mudshield, which btw the bike costed only 400euro, I can just buy a brand new one with this horrendous repair offer.

I’ll file an official complain in german so you don’t need to reply me here Zweirad. 🙂

This large and spotless bicycle store has everything you could possibly need for your bike. From repairs and maintenance to new gear, bags, wheels, and more, they have it all. The staff is friendly and helpful, though sometimes new purchases take a little time to be ready. One of the coolest features is the indoor street where you can test out different products. Overall, it’s a fantastic place for any cycling enthusiast!

If you want to buy a bike in Berlin you should visit this shop. Huge space with everything you need. Lange exposition of many brands at fair and discounted prices. You can test you next bike in the indoor area. Staff very helpful and friendly.

A huge bicycle store where you can do test drives. There is a large selection of hundreds of bicycles as well as bikes accessories. It is very unlikely not finding what you need here. Prices are generally higher than other shops, but this is only because the quality of the products is, on average, higher (personal opinion). However, if you are lucky, you can get good discounts (even 50% of the full price. Personal experience here). Worth giving it a try in case you need a new bike or related accessories

Everything you might possibly need for your bike. I was looking for a new helmet and Tatiana was so very kind (and patient ☺️ as I tried on so maaaanyy) to show me different options and explain the differences. Very friendly customer service overall! Got a good advice on phone holders and other stuff as well.

The personnel are pretty brisk and rude, cutting you off and generally preferring to speak with colleagues about you rather than speaking to you directly.

Expect to wait a long time, both for an appointment and when you visit.

You will also not be able to speak to the mechanics themselves: only to the personnel in the main building. This means you cannot communicate information to the workshop directly. Information I gave to the personnel about the car was not passed on.

Coupled with all of this the prices seem high to me, although maybe that’s standard.

It’s also hard to get to: the main road to get there often has traffic jams. And the parking spots at the building itself are usually very full.

Don’t go here if you can avoid it!

Good, but only for simple repairs and fixes, like tire exchange, oil and filter replacements. Don’t take youe car here for more complex things, but the simple stuff they do well.

Scheduled appointment, they changed it fast (faster then planed), packed other tires in bags and back in car.
In total, service as promissed.

Very bad company and service sales persons. I was there on July 1st 2022 to return a malfunctioning electric roller I bought a year ago. I had a copy of my invoice with all details. The gentleman I spoke to, without checking my invoice insisted he will only deal with me after I show him the original invoice. I asked him where that is stated in the shop and he could not show me. Instead, he wanted to take me to their garage where they carry out their repairs. I refused to go with him because my transaction was in the shop and not in the garage. When I asked him why he was being so rude, unprofessional and unfriendly and if because I was black, he got angry, took my roller and attached my invoice and copy of my drivers license which he had in his hands and parked them outside the shop. He asked me to leave and that he was not going to serve me. I asked for the branch manager and was told he was not there. I asked for the gentleman’s name and he refused to give me his name. Such a coward! I regret ever doing business with this company. Do not go there especially if you are not German. They feel they are doing you a favor when you do business with them. It’s your money that ads up to pay those losers. Take your hard earned money elsewhere.

I came here 22th of October, 2022 to buy umweltzone plaketten. Woman said that I can’t buy it here for some reason. 2 months before I bought it here for a different car, so, that’s something awful. On ATU’s site I see that I can buy it here, but that’s not true.

We scheduled an appointment for wheels change some time in advance. Once arrived they informed us that we can only pay in cash which is an issue as it’s a company car. On top of not informing us in advance, they can’t issue invoices. And to make everything worse, the mechanic was very rude and unpleasant. Would avoid booking any services in this branch

I was trying to get the wheels on both of my cars changed in one evening. The first was scheduled at 15:45 and the second car after the first was done. Originally I was told it would take 30 mins per car. I was then told that they might take a little longer and that they would call me and let me know when the car was ready and I could bring my other car. I went home and waited for nearly two hours. I decided to take the other car anyway. Sure enough the first car had been done. I was asked then why I was late with my second car as it was expected at 17:00. I explained that I was waiting for a call that I never got. He said I should have had an SMS. No i didn’t.
So I waited again for another call which I never got and when I went to pick up my second car (which had been done) the shop was closed. So now 2 evenings have been messed up instead of just one as planned.
Wasting my time without apology!!

They install different parts from the one they mentioned in the invoice!! I trusted them with battery replacement and they installed different battery to my car, and then when the battery alert came again, they said how they can know if I changed my battery!!
PLEASE BE CAREFUL before going to them, check all parts numbers and compare them with what they installed as they installed different battery and not Varta which was mrntiond

Not the greatest customer service, one employee serves/talks with customers, 2 other get other tasks done at the Computers. I absolutely do not recommend this place. They changed my tires, and a couple of days later an odd knocking noise appeared. It turned out that these gentlemen had not tightened three bolts on one of the wheels. Fortunately, I noticed it in time.

This is just a review of the online booking process, NOT of the services provided at a branch. Well, it is a joke. The initial form is super generic and badly thought out, so then you get someone (a person!) to write to you back to ask about further details e.g. are you bringing / taking tires, what sizes etc. I inquired on Wed for appointments at two branches, got two different responses asking for further information (one even asked for a copy of my car papers!) and by today (Tue) I still have not had a response on whether and when I can come for a tire change… It is 2023, if you have not heard – these services CAN be automated.

Not a bad service, but took them 1 hour longer to change tires on the car. During Corona time, not allowed to stay in store, McDonald’s next to it is also closed for sitting inside and there’s pretty much nothing around except that. Waiting for 2 hours on -1 degree outside is no fun at all. Try to figure out how to give more accurate ETAs to people.

Wilmersdorf for a repair and overall check-up, and while the service was good, there were a couple of minor issues. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they explained everything clearly, which made me feel confident about the repairs. The work was done within the estimated time, but I had to return the next day as a small issue with the brakes was overlooked. They quickly fixed it without extra charge, which I appreciated. Overall, a positive experience, though some attention to detail would have made it perfect.

Think back about my experience with ATU over the past few years it has been generally disappointing with some surprisingly happy moments but very few. Almost every time after the tyre change, there was something wrong with my car(it is a 2019 new car). Once the spare screws and caps with car logo went missing, another two times the sensors of tyre pressure stopped working. Now 4 days after my winter tyre replacement, I hear unusual noise coming from the wheel and I have to, again, bring my car for the check. I am sorry that I am no expert on cars and am so vulnerable, as every time when the worker said you need to buy this and change that, I had to do so. Every time when they say the problem was not caused by them, I had to believe.

Not bad,

I went to your store in Wilmsdorf to buy a ring wrench set, unfortunately you only had one type of wrench that was packed in regular nylon. There was no variety of wrenches. There was no reliable brand of wrench. Your young employee was also very cold and indifferent. I hope you correct it!

Shop looks professional yet, they just rip you off without a proper service.

Went for a tyre alignment, mentioned wheel wobble on high speeds. They just took tyres off, changed back and forwards. Then asked for 150€. Car still continued to have a problem, plus wheel alignment I asked wasn’t done either.

Just stay away unless you have to. 2nd star given since you can theoretically go on demand. Yet, if you’re not able to have a proper service; not worth it.

Changed my oil here, friendly people and very fast service, in 20 minutes I could drive out again.

I don’t understand the other reviews here, maybe it’s because ATU motivates you to book appointment online (as I did). As far as I see, this shop/garage contains everything you need and I was treated with respect, and a clear explanation on things to look out for on my car.

I’ve used the ATU branch in Kreuzberg multiple times, and most recently for the HU inspection. It passed without any of the dubious repairs many other shops often suggest. In general, I don’t trust car repair shops because it’s easy for them to fabricate issues, but so far, ATU has seemed very honest. Once, I had the AC fixed, but that repair only lasted a few months. Overall, though, I’m happy with the shop!

First of all, the service is horrendous. My light was broken and the car displayed the problem clearly. However, after a normal „check-up“, they weren’t able to recognize the broken light. Additionally, they did not recognize a problem with my clutch which was a significant safety issue.
I went to another mechanics… everything sorted within a week…

I would never let inspect my car here again!
Huge waste of money and time!

Also, if I could.. I would only give 0 stars, however it’s not possible.

I think they didn’t fix any of the problems with my car, and pretended to have fixed them.
My reason for going there was because of an engine misfiring problem. When they called to say my car was ready, I asked if the engine was fixed – they said yes the problems were solved. They gave me two diagnosis reports: one with the issues listed, and a second newer one with no issues.
I was suspicious because the car had been there only for a morning. I found that a lot of the issues still exist, and I fear they didn’t fix the problem with the engine misfiring. They did turn off the engine warning light, which means I don’t know if the problem persists.
The staff at the checkout just wanted me to pay and go away, and didn’t want to explain anything. I’m driving my car now unsure if it works. Bad service, would not recommend this place.

Bought the correct battery for my auto less than 18 months ago. A 5 year battery of high amperage. For the last 1/2 year I have suffered through unexplained dead battery. Jump starting the car with a friend. It became obvious to me that the battery was weak. I tried to return it under warranty, with receipt of course. No, they said the batter is normal, that is it my car, and they would need the car for 3 days to do a total investigation of the problem and that it would cost a lot of money just for the diagnostics. I took the car to an independent small repair service in Wedding, they advised that the battery is not of high quality, but they installed a new better battery for less money than I had pad ATU. One month later, and now freezing weather, the car sits for a week between driving and then starts immediately. Problem solved but not by ATU. ATU refused to stand behind their warranty. I would never again buy so much as a shop rag from them, they are crooks and cannot be trusted. Stay away from these cheats.

It is important to select the right type of tire based on your driving conditions and vehicle specifications.

How do I know when to replace my tires?

It's crucial to monitor your tires for signs of wear such as low tread depth, visible cracks, and bulging. A common method to check tread depth is the penny test: insert a penny into the tread groove, and if you can see the top of Lincoln's head, it's time for a replacement. Additionally, if you experience vibration or abnormal noises while driving, it may indicate that your tires need inspection.

What services do tire shops offer besides selling tires?

Some shops also offer wheel alignment services to ensure proper handling and prolong the life of your tires. It is beneficial to take advantage of these services for maintaining your tires effectively.

Are there any seasonal considerations for tire purchases?

Yes, when purchasing tires, it's vital to consider the seasons. In Berlin, winter tires are recommended from October to April as they provide better traction in cold and icy conditions. Conversely, summer tires perform better in warmer temperatures. Planning ahead for seasonal changes can enhance your driving safety and optimize tire performance.

How can I maintain my tires to extend their lifespan?

To extend the lifespan of your tires, regular maintenance is essential. This includes checking tire pressure at least once a month, ensuring they are properly inflated, and rotating your tires every 6,000 to 8,000 miles to ensure even wear. Additionally, having your tires balanced and aligned as recommended can prevent unnecessary wear and improve vehicle safety.

What should I consider when buying used tires?

When considering the purchase of used tires, it's critical to inspect them thoroughly. Look for signs of uneven wear, cracks, and bulges that may compromise safety. Ensure that the tread depth is sufficient and ask about the tire's age, as older tires may be more prone to failure. Additionally, inquire about any warranties or guarantees the shop offers with used tires.
