Very nice and tasty collection of Syrian (Levantine) desserts! The staff are very nice and friendly… good spot for a quick break to get your dessert of the day! Also, Syrians would typically take dessert gifts from this place… visiting a syrian friend? Take a kilo of halawet else jibn or knafeh or madloqah!

While i was looking on google maps for Arabic delights I can assure you it’s really delicious except that it would be much better combined with real honey instead of just basic sugar syrup,
I also tried few other things which were good in general except for one pistachio roll was extremely sweet which I didn’t enjoy much.

On the other hand the staff wasn’t so nice and welcoming ( probably the staff he had a bad day or something )

It would be better and quieter to visit ok weekdays if possible

Overall the experience was nice and high probably will pass by again

underwhelming .. and i came all the way from holland following the hype. one of the guys gave me some attitude when i ( passionately) tried to ask about differences between the sweets – from my humble curious research of a foodie. chaabiyet ( which what they are famous for) tasted like burek that is drenched in katr … my friend agreed with the description. al madlo2a was okay-ish, i had better ones. taste aside, it was the attitude

The desserts were fresh, but when you see them, you expect something truly amazing and extra in terms of flavor. However, the taste was quite ordinary for me, though the presentation was absolutely top-notch. Still, they’re worth trying at least once.

I visited this pastry shop this morning, hoping for a quick breakfast treat, but I left feeling really disappointed, especially considering the price I paid. The seating was extremely limited, a small bar with only three cramped spots inside and just two tables outside, which felt unwelcoming in the cold. To my surprise, there’s an extra charge for dining in; for example, the almond millefeuille went from 6.30 euros to 7.06 euros if you choose to sit down. This surcharge applies to all their pastries, which felt unnecessary given the minimal and uncomfortable seating options.

The coffee didn’t help redeem the experience, with milk that was over-foamed, lacking that smooth, creamy texture I expected. The almond millefeuille, which I was looking forward to, also didn’t live up to expectations. The cream was too soft, with a strong marzipan flavor that masked any true almond taste. For the price, I was expecting a more balanced and refined pastry. The pain au chocolat was standard but not memorable, certainly not worth the premium.

Overall, while this shop might be okay for a quick takeaway, it didn’t live up to expectations for a quality pastry experience. The added charge for sitting in, combined with the uncomfortable seating, made me feel that my money was wasted. I left disappointed, feeling that the experience was far from worth the price.

I visited this bakery early in the morning for a quick breakfast treat, but it left me a bit disappointed. Seating was very limited — a small bar with just three spots inside and some tables outside, which wasn’t ideal in the cold weather. What surprised me even more was the price difference for dining in; some items went over 7 euros if you’re seated. For such basic and uncomfortable seating, the extra charge didn’t seem justified.

The coffee was another letdown, with overly foamed milk that lacked the smooth, creamy texture I was hoping for. The almond millefeuille also missed the mark. The cream was too soft and had a strong marzipan flavor that overshadowed any almond taste. Given the price, I expected something more refined. The pain au chocolat was fine but nothing special, especially for the cost.

Overall, this place might work for a quick takeaway, but it didn’t meet my expectations for a cozy or satisfying breakfast spot. The added charge for sitting in, combined with uncomfortable seating, left me feeling that the experience wasn’t worth the price.

Better than expected for such a notorious ghetto.
Prices for both pastries and drinks are significantly lower than average in Berlin, and what I tried tasted good. The interior is quite cozy with comfortable small couches.
Staff members varied from very nice to… Not so nice. Also, card payments are possible only from 10 Euros, which is definitely an inconvenience in 2024. Neukölln, what did I want…

Great place for a solid, abundant and tasty breakfast. We had combos number 7 and 8, and were thoroughly satisfied. The ingredients were high quality, and the service was quick and responsive. If you’re looking for a real Neukölln place where locals get their first meal of the day, this is your spot. (The only thing that could be improved is the music. Party techno is not exactly the thing I’m looking for in breakfast. Something more calm would work much better.)

Stumbled in this place, looking for a nice coffee in the morning and was greeted with the warmest welcome by the waitress. We had the nicest mini breakfast!
It had a big variety of sweet and salty snacks for breakfast, a quick lunch or an afternoon treat. We immediately decided it would be the place to have breakfast in our trip.
The staff was helpful, available to make us comfortable, which created a good and happy environment.
We also got a few sandwiches for the day and they were absolutely delicious. I recommend the chicken with the spicy sauce. It was so goooood!!!
I think this is the place to start the day. I promise you will be well welcomed by the prettiest smiles of all time!
Thank you for the experience!

Been here several times and the only constant thing is how delicious the cakes are. Variety is changing but staple flavours and favourites are almost always available. Huge portions. They also offer cookies, cupcakes, ice cream cakes, meringue, macarons etc.

The cafe is quite small and can be very crowded at peak hours. The last time I was there was very hard because we had a sleeping toddler on a buggy and the place was packed at 1700H.
The entrance can be blocked by people ordering for takeaway so you also can have that dining in. They have different prices for dine-in and takeaway, so you can consider that too.

Service is not consistent. Some staff are friendly, the other time, one was indifferent and another was quite stressed. I would have given them a 3.
But today was very good. We were there at around lunch and the two employees were very friendly and welcoming. I noticed one was very helpful to a customer who had a few questions about the cakes‘ ingredients and another who ordered two boxes of small portions.

Will maybe visit again but depends on some circumstances.

Sadly was expecting so much more from this cake store after reading so many good reviews, plus I love trying new cake stores but from the moment we sat inside the staff seemed really rushed off their feet, the waiter would rush off to another job half way through a transaction… not the most relaxing atmosphere to stay in and switch off.

CAKE – the cake I chose was unfortunately stale and tasteless, which was surprising based on how yummy the cake looked on presentation. In store, what I observed and liked was that the staff took care in transferring the cakes to the table, whether that’s table service or takeaway, it was nice to see they really cared about the produce delivery.
Overall, It was still nice to try out a new place though and my partners cake was okay. The coffee was the best by far and on the positive side you can’t beat a cake and coffee date 🙂

One of our favorite places to be in Berlin!
The cupcakes are really good, although each location of that brand has a different selection, which makes it difficult to get only the ones you like.
The service was really good and the staff is being trained well.
The area is nice and the possibilities to sit very comfortable.
Sadly they do not have a toilet, which is not nice if you want to have a longer brunch and especially if you like to drink more than one drink.

I was particularly excited to try their pistachio croissant, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The balance of flavors was off. The cream overpowered the taste of pistachio, which was surprisingly soft and lacked the distinct nutty flavor I was hoping for. It felt more like I was eating a cream-filled croissant rather than enjoying the rich taste of pistachio.

I also tried the pistachio citron tart, and while the tart was well-made, the lemon flavor was overwhelmingly dominant, to the point where the pistachio was nearly undetectable. It was disappointing, especially since I was expecting a more balanced flavor profile where both the lemon and pistachio could shine.

The staff, unfortunately, didn’t add much to the experience. They weren’t particularly welcoming or smiling, which affected the overall atmosphere of the bakery. A friendly and warm service could have made up for some of the shortcomings in the food, but that wasn’t the case here.

On a positive note, the coffee was good—nothing exceptional, but it met the standard of what you’d expect from a bakery like this. It was a solid cup of coffee, but not something that would make me return specifically for it.

Overall, FREA Bakery has potential, but the pastries need better flavor balance, and the staff could be more engaging to create a more enjoyable experience.

Tried the hazelnut croissant. It was okay to be honest, the croissant itself was not buttery as you would expect.

Service was alright, nothing wrong with it, however, you’re not met with a smile and almost feel like you’re bothering them for being there.

Coffee was excellent! Tasty and well made.

Pleasant Morning Spot, but Pastry Disappointment
This charming cafe offers a cozy atmosphere perfect for a leisurely morning coffee. Unfortunately, my pastry choices fell short. The pistachio tart was visually appealing, but the citron base overpowered the subtle pistachio flavor, leaving me underwhelmed. The pistachio croissant was standard, and I’ve encountered better options in Berlin. While the ambiance was enjoyable, the pastries didn’t live up to my expectations.

Unfortunately I didn’t check the reviews before returning to frea bakery. Sadly it’s not fully vegan anymore.
The Kardamom Bun was lovely as usual but the rest left us truly disappointed. Maybe spoiled of the great concept and food in the past, I now perceive it not special anymore – it’s just a average breakfast place. The vegan choices left on the menu could not be more basic. Avocado toast, mushroom toast and granola.
Moving from vegan to veggie clearly displays no ethics.

This hipster breakfast spot is a haven for pastry and coffee lovers. Their delectable offerings, including the Spandauer, are simply divine. The inviting ambiance and relaxed atmosphere create a pleasant dining experience. However, the counter service and buzzer system might give off a slight fast-food vibe, which could be a minor drawback for some.

Great food, nice drinks, and friendly staff!
With organic sourcing of their ingredients and SUPER fresh baked goods, we had a delightful breakfast. We had their zucchini, focaccia and marguerita pizza which super fresh and tasty. My zucchini dish had a fresh burrata on top that together with a very nice seasoning mix made this apparently simple dish mouth watering. We finished off on a high sharing their famous Kouign-amman which was perfect! The traditionally sweet with a pinch of salt pastry, whose crunchiness would be the live of the ASMR lovers. Definitely a must try trying it when visiting!

Despite being very busy (we went on a Saturday around 10am) the staff was dynamic and kind when getting the orders and making suggestions for food.

The space is very minimalistic and not very big, which makes seating limited. During our visit, tables rotated quite often, with most customers taking the goods “to-go”. As we visited in summer, is good to ponder that the rotation might be slower in colder seasons, as the indoor tables are few. So if seating is essential, make sure to plan for an earlier arrival on weekends.

A cosy cafe/food show! The place offers live screening of the baking process which adds to the experience. The baked stuff are yummy and have a very good value for money! The staff are nice, and are fluent in English.
It is a walking g distance from U8.
They also sell some handmade items on the side, if you looking for a different type of gift.

Customer Reviews
I had my first disappointing cheesecake here- it was the one with poppy seeds – was very excited when I saw it as I tasted an amazing poppy seed cheesecake at a confirmation recently. Here it was very dry on the top –
All the other cheesecakes I absolutely love and we order them for special events!!! The iced chocolate and iced tea were yummy

Very unserious people, I asked for a cake for 5 people, they charged me 112 euros then when I picked it up I found out it was for 14 people.
In fact I had to leave 9 slices of cake at the restaurant where we celebrated my daughter’s birthday.
Basically insidious behavior on their part aimed, in order to make a profit, at inducing a person to perform acts harmful to himself .
Average quality product
Absolutely not recommended

We had an amazing time at Princess Cheesecake! Every cake was outstanding; we couldn’t pick a favorite if we tried. The taste was exceptional, and the coffee was great too. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Cheesecake Cafe located between Savignyplatz and KuDamm. The cakes are exquisite and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend when there not busy!

Unfortunately the service wasn’t great this afternoon (Saturday), understaffed, unable to clear tables, take orders without waiting a substantial amount of time … 1 star lost ✨️ 2 staff members were completely overwhelmed, there should have been atleast 3-4 staff working.

Frequently asked questions about custom cake bakers in Berlin

What types of custom cakes can I order from bakers in Berlin?

Custom cake bakers in Berlin offer an array of options, including celebration cakes for birthdays, weddings, and special occasions. You can also request themed cakes that align with hobbies, interests, or specific events. Many bakers specialize in unique flavors and decorative styles, allowing you to create a cake tailored to your preferences.

How far in advance should I place my custom cake order?

It is generally recommended to place your order at least two to four weeks in advance to ensure availability. This timeframe allows the baker to accommodate any specific requests and plan for the cake's design and complexity. During busy seasons, such as weddings or holidays, it’s wise to order even earlier to avoid any scheduling conflicts.

Can I request a specific flavor or dietary requirement for my cake?

Most custom cake bakers in Berlin are happy to accommodate specific flavors and dietary requirements. This can include options like gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan cakes. When placing your order, make sure to communicate your needs clearly so the baker can create a cake that meets your requirements without compromising on taste or quality.

What decorations can I customize on my cake?

Custom decorations can vary significantly, from fondant designs to buttercream work. You can request specific color schemes, edible images, or even hand-painted elements that represent your theme or personal style. Discuss your vision with the baker to see what options are available and get their professional input on what would work best.

Are there size options for custom cakes?

Yes, custom cake bakers typically offer a range of sizes to accommodate different guest counts. Whether you need a small, intimate cake for a few people or a larger cake for a big gathering, bakers can provide various sizes, often measured in servings. It’s essential to inform the baker about the number of guests you expect to help them recommend the appropriate size.

What should I do if I need to cancel or change my order?

If you need to cancel or change your order, it is crucial to contact the baker as soon as possible. Most bakeries have a cancellation policy that outlines any applicable fees or deadlines. Understanding these policies will help avoid unexpected charges and ensure a smooth process if adjustments are necessary.

How can I ensure my cake stays fresh before the event?

To keep your custom cake fresh, it’s important to follow some basic guidelines. Ideally, you should store the cake in a cool, dry place and avoid exposure to direct sunlight. If the cake needs refrigeration, it should be packed properly to prevent the cake from drying out. Many bakers may offer specific storage instructions tailored to their cake designs.

Do custom cake bakers provide delivery services?

Many custom cake bakers in Berlin do offer delivery services, though this can vary by bakery. Delivery may incur an additional fee, especially if you're located far from the bakery. If delivery is not available, bakers will often provide guidelines on how to transport the cake safely to avoid any damage.

How do I choose the right custom cake baker in Berlin?

Choosing the right custom cake baker involves several factors. Look for bakers with strong reviews and positive feedback from previous clients. You should also consider their expertise in the specific style and type of cake you desire. Meeting the baker, if possible, allows you to discuss your ideas and assess whether they understand and can deliver your vision.
