Amazing book shop with books on every subject you would think of. Many stands throughout the book shoop with lovely small things. A wonderful place for book and music lovers alike! It’s a vast building with an extensive collection of books on various topics, including science fiction, thrillers, novels, romance, business, philosophy, children’s books, travel, food, geography, science, and more. The sheer volume of books is impressive, and they even have selections in English. The organization of the books is superb, making it easy to find what you’re looking for. Information counters on every floor are a great touch for any assistance.

The ground floor features a fantastic array of musical instruments, CDs and books on learning various instruments. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Even if you’re not a book enthusiast, you’ll enjoy exploring this treasure trove.

Found a book online on Thalia.de that I wanted to buy. The homepage said it cost 19,19€ and I could buy it and pick it up as click and collect. I decided that since I could pick it up as click and collect, the book was already in the store, and I could just go there and find it myself. So I did that, but when I found the book in store, the price was 22,95€. When I went to pay, I pointed this out, and the employee said “do I look online?!?” I said that okay, I could also just buy the book online, and come and pick it up as click and collect. There were some more discussion, but I ended up paying 19,19€. Normally I find Thalia a really nice store, but I don’t want to be treated rudely, so I think I will just buy my books online and have them send, or buy them in another bookstore.

Fantastic book store! They have every kind of literature material that reading lovers could wish for… And the god part is a complete separate and big section for books in English. There are books and magazines for all categories..fiction, science, non-fiction, thrillers, pleasure, information, comics, art, humour, natural and technical sciences, hobbies, parental, spirituality, health, cooking, sports, languages, games etc. Spread over 2 floors within the Alexa mall, there’s also a small but good reading area within. Apart from literature, they also have souvenirs, calendars, gifting & packing material and other seasonal stuff.

A little off the beaten track but well worth a visit for anyone in Berlin. But especially for a book lover this is a must visit.

A miniature library with an assortment of books and a quirky cafe serving as many bagels and combinations of toppings as you would like.
Wasn’t too busy when we visited but is only small so there can be limited space.

I like going here occasionally. The young staff are all very friendly and welcoming, and although it’s not the cheapest a coffee and a (very good) bagel for 10+ euros is OK for enjoying a bit of people watching in a pleasant atmosphere. Book prices are a bit over the average, but there’s a good selection and it’s an independent shop so I think it’s acceptable. Something about the place (maybe it’s just me) reminds me of the atmosphere of young international wannabe writers etc, arriving in this neighbourhood in the late 1990s. The name is, after all, a nod to that great expat bookshop of 1920s Paris. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Wonderful bookstore with a dedicated section for English books! They have such a nice selection in addition to lovely book-related items and Berlin souvenir collections. They have a section for Harry Potter fans as well. There’s also a small section for manga in English as well.

As a bookworm, this bookstore made me feel very happy! Totally worth visiting.

Thalia really gives me the creeps. It’s not a nice place to be in. Green and blue are not a good colour choice for a book chain. And naming it after the goddess of comedy and poetry doesn’t help either. It just seems like the person who sat it up never read a book in their lives. I’m sure it’s very efficient though.

I would have walked straight out of this bookshop leaving my selected books on the counter had it not been for my Mum cooling me down a bit. Mum was at the till with a book she wanted to buy. The lady behind the counter told her to use the selfscan. What is wrong with you people!?

She is 70 years old and had no idea how to work the machine. She got annoyed and frustrated, somebody had to come and help her. It would have been so much easier and much more customer friendly had the person behind the counter just done her job properly.

True, the shop has a nice selection of English books. They have a nice collection of classics in beautiful editions. I am sure you can find a book to your liking here.

I love book stores. To have a place so full of stories and knowledge and opinions and humanity all in one place is a treasure I fear many miss. This one does a decent job of representing the genres and popular authors. However I feel like many places it has given in to trends that reduce its ability to be part of forming society. Instead this company has chosen to just perpetuate what it sees online. I would hope for more…
