Customer Reviews
The store is simply amazing!
Here you can find a huge selection of discs and records for every taste, especially for fans of rock and metal.
The variety of T-shirts and badges is also pleasantly surprising!
But there is one minus that left an unpleasant aftertaste – the seller.
Even though I purchased several items, he acted aggressively and irritated when I asked questions about the items. His reaction was clearly not in the spirit of hospitality, which slightly darkened the overall impression of the store.
Margo Luchko

Amazing punk rock and hardcore merch Huge LP store with rare cool records. Friendly atmosphere and staff. Highly recommended place in Kreuzberg. Punx not dead!
Dmitriy Morozov

Great selection, got some great shirts. Staff was friendly and even recommended a venue to check a local band while I was in town.
Mod Cardenas

Excellent and a must to visit if you want hardcore and punk merchandise
angelo fonte

Cool place for punk/hardcore/metal fans.
Wide selection of clothing, vinyl records and merch.
Searching for t-shirts, although everything is in alphabetical order can be a bit disappointing since there is not enough space.
Staff was ok.
Tips: Grab one of their labeled (coretex) beers.

I left my acoustic guitar for a repair on Saturday morning and after 2 hours the service was done, pretty fast and with quality! The staff is very friendly.
Also bought this nice strap.
Rafael Ribeiro

Small but well stocked of beautiful guitars and basses. The boss is a very kind person and he let me try my favourite and very expensive bass.
I would be one of the best customers, unfortunatly I live in Italy.
Leonardo C.

I was very pleased with my experience at Berlin Guitar! Everyone was wonderfully kind, and I received excellent support in trying out different guitars and finding the right fit for my individual needs and preferences. Vincent was incredibly helpful, and I am very grateful! I bought my first travel guitar, and I already love it so much. I will definitely come back! Thank you so much!

I highly recommend Berlin Guitars! This fantastic shop offers a wide selection of both acoustic and electric guitars, catering to every musician’s needs. The staff is exceptional knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about guitars, as they are players themselves. We spent over an hour exploring their collection and left with two incredible guitars. It was truly a perfect experience!
Piotr Pawałowski

When I came to Berlin to study at university, I couldn’t bring my guitar with me and wouldn’t be able to for another 6-7 months. I told the staff here that I was looking for a guitar to use during this time, and they helped me choose a very good guitar at an affordable price. The staff were extremely friendly and spoke excellent English, which made the whole process even easier. On top of that, gifting me a jack cable was such a thoughtful move. This is definitely the best shop in Berlin for guitars!

Hard Wax offers an impressive selection of underground vinyl that appeals to collectors and enthusiasts alike. The experience of browsing through their carefully curated collection is nothing short of delightful, revealing many hidden gems that mainstream stores overlook.
Their commitment to quality service is evident not only in their packaging but also in their communication. Customers can expect a seamless experience from order placement to delivery, making Hard Wax a top choice for anyone looking for hard-to-find records at competitive prices.
Customer Reviews
Great store. Really enjoyed getting to see this store. Loved walking to this place having to go into the building and feeling like your in the wrong spot really made me enjoy it more. The vinyls here are all underground artist, DON’T EXPECT TO FIND MAIN STREAM MUSIC, but I really enjoyed hunting through the vinyls and seeing names I’ve never read before. Happy hunting!
Graham Ashworth

Went before the pandemic, and loved the experience. I couldn’t decide between some stuff but made the best decision thanks to the staff and got two records from locals (my fav ones to date)
M.

Gday. Made an order for 20x records from Hard Wax, Germany on the 17th February, 2024. They arrived in Australia less than two weeks later.
Hard Wax went out of their way to ensure that the records were expertly packed and could survive their journey around the world intact. They don’t use crappy packing materials – they only use stiff cardboard boxing that is made for vinyl records. They include extra internal packing materials as well. They wrap the records in tissue paper and separate clear wrap to keep it from moving during transit.
Everything arrives in its store-bought condition. The pricing including shipping is still 25 – 50% cheaper than if you buy it in Australia from any retail store (including supposed discount music sellers.)
The communication was excellent and I was notified via email as to when the parcel was sent out. The payment process is simple and easy to follow. Shipping information is automatically calculated on their website at the time of ordering and you can change your mind before making a payment to add or deduct items from your order.
I am always reluctant to purchase records from USA or UK because the packing is always lousy and the service is lacklustre. They want your business but treat you like a number; whereas dealing with German companies, like Hard Wax, I know that the experience will be friendly, professional, reliable and hassle-free.
Thanks so very much for the fantastic customer service experience. I know where I will be buying hard-to-find records from again that are impossible to acquire in Australia.
Galston Gorgeous

Great selection of techno vinyls! Prices could be slightly lower for second hand, but this is balanced due to the overall service! Skip the rest record shops and go there instead if you are looking for proper cuts.
Alexandros Balas

A great record store for Techno and House. If you like Techno records you should visit this shop! ( Not a shop to find old and used records! )

Customer Reviews
Probably my most favourite place in the world Wide selection of records (mainly vinyl, but also CDs), friendly helpful staff, all kind of music genres, but heaven especially for electronic music lovers – large room in the back of the store, stuffed with thousands of records, is dedicated only to all kind of subgenres of techno, house, minimal, dnb, breakbeat, dubstep etc. I attach photos from my first visit in 2016, but they are still relevant even now in 2024. Will definitely come back any time again when in Berlin.
timez 1

Amazing store, huge selection and a lovely guy on the front desk. Yes it’s cash only but there is an ATM across the street. Yes it smells of cigarettes when you walk in, so what. You go for what you can find there and I walked out with some fantastic vinyl. As a tourist I loved it
Peter Schmidt

Definitely the worst customer experience I’ve ever had with any business, no response in discogs, when you call they are extremely disrespectful on the phone, and they hang up the phone in you.
They don’t want your money. Avoid these people
Liam Reddan

AVOID! worst service, and rudest seller! bought a record on their discogs a month ago, they courier (DHL) dont sent notifications of delivery, i work from home all day long, they said it was tried to deliver but it is a lie, had to pay extra 17 euros for new shipping, which atm the package is lost, when i tried to contact them to check where the package is, their answer was: “Why are you asking us? We are not DHL” probably the rudest seller i´ve had the displeasure to deal with
also been to the shop in 2020 and i can assure you is the same treatment when you are at the physical shop, dont waste your time or money there.
not to mention that they take days to answer to your requests
order was created october 11th and i still don´t have my records
i do not recommend at all!
UPDATE: their answer to this was: “Go cry like a baby”, so you can see the level of profissionalism / maturity of this bussiness
Arnaldo Robles

Nice house collection and big techno assortment of records which I visited a couple of times. However, I had a very bad experience with the shop owner. Apparently drunk on a bad day, and after being triggered by new visitors making a fuss in the store, he offloaded out his anger on me / started insulting on me out of nowhere, sometime complaining he was angry how I cleaned the records from dust with my hands (as if you can’t politely make a remark about that first), or that he didn’t like my “type”, or face, or race, or whatever for that matter — he just complained he doesn’t like my type/generation of people as he “can’t exchange with them / they don’t care about the music” (which is kinda ridicilous/laughable as I’m an audiophile / music addict). Whatever, the whole episode was kinda surreal, I was insulted repeatedly for no reason, I was nearly shooed out just because the owner said he had anger building up after X years of running the store and noticing some “trends (which I seemingly represented a scapegoat for). When he started swearing words about “my generation not understanding anything”, I knew it was just blind anger directed at me for somebody else’s fault / nothing I did or didn’t. Or homophobia for that matter, or just outright racism with him “not liking my type”. In any case, I will never go back to this store.

The best!
Great sound, great equipment, friendly staff and wonderful location!
Perfect place for practice and experimenting your stuff. We had the DJ booth and damm it was a blast! You should definitely book online beforehand.
Good session and hopefully see / hear you soon!
Naru Tu

One of the few places in Berlin where the crew is friendly and nice! Aside that, it’s beautiful place, stylish AF, clean, nice atmosphere, their equipment is good, specially for a place that has so much people comming and going and using that stuff. The price for all of that is reasonable and fair. – I strongly recommend!
Alessandro Gouveia

The staff is friendly, rooms are affordable and the equipment is good for the price. Easy to book, you can rent instruments on the spot.
Danilo Trifunjagic

Good place, feels very straightforward and professional. Personnel is very good also. Plenty of rooms, a lot of music equipment and instruments to rent on the spot. It comes with a slightly more price on rehearsals there, but it is worth it.
Nikolay “ЗНАК” Zvegintsev

Well, the other day, after using their services for about 15 years something happened to me that, apparently, can’t happen to you in this place: “I forgot my notes / lyrics” of my songs in the rehearsal room.
3 days later I went to ask if they had found them and the answer of the first person who answered me was “Yes, I saw them here” and started looking for them. When SHE didn’t find them, SHE asked his colleague, who has known me at least by sight, for a long time.
He can’t find them either. He tells me that it must have been the “cleaner” and that when the “Lost & Found” box is full, it is thrown away.
I answer him: “but it was 3 days ago” and he says: “Yes, but when it is full, it is full, there is nothing to do, it is thrown away”.
Ok, I think it’s pretty “silly”, but I accept it and tell him: “it would be nice that when you find something (be it notes, a Rolex or a Ferrari) in the rehearsal room, you keep it for at least a week. And I emphasize ONE WEEK, NOT ONE MONTH.
And this is where the fun begins!
He says “but you don’t know if they were yours or not” “there is no way to prove it”… Obviously I say: “Your colleague just told me that SHE saw them and kept them under the desk where they keep the things found in the rooms”.
He looks at me and says “aaaah, but maybe they were not yours”, “besides, it happens all the time that nobody claims them”.
I say: It’s the first time that happens to me + what if they were much more important notes for me? Well… back to the first paragraph of this text.
It is very easy to know whose things are found there by the room number and time, isn’t it? …anyway…
OK, I tell him, “this is not a trial”, I’m just telling you that “it would be nice if you would be more considerate with what you find in your rooms, as it could be important for your clients”.
Among other exchanges of “opinions”, long story, short story, I told him “you are right, bye” and left before things get ugly (and believe me, I was this close to that)..so now you know, don’t forget anything in those rooms, humans never ceases to amaze me and when your head is full “it’s full” of whatever you think in this case is full.
HAPPY NOW?
Note: They check the rooms themselves (or that was what I’ve been told)

I was looking for a specific Queen record that was only released in East Germany. The owner (Thorsten????)had the record when I was last in a couple of years ago but did not have it today. He did however tell me the name of a nearby store that did have it as he had seen 2 copies there the day prior. Although I couldn’t buy anything from him on this occasion, his knowledge and service is first class.

Really enjoyed my visit. Found a few nice traditional Irish records and a nice Speakers Corner Smokey Robinson reissue. They have a nice “audiophile” section and a good “holy moly” wall. Beautiful setting. The listening station is glorious. The setting is perfect. Very helpful man. Been in Berlin a week and this is my favourite store so far. Lovely variety of genres and reasonable prices.
Shane Reynolds

When I’m in Berlin record shops I’m searching for singles & wasn’t disappointed with the amount of boxes & crates to comb through today… This is a record collector’s shop – lots of great psyche, 70’s hard rock, prog, beat records on the wall. If I weren’t traveling with little ability to fit LP’s in my luggage I would be thrilled to take some titles off their walls. Great shop, one of the best in Berlin!

Purchased a lovely Jazzmaster and Deluxe Reverb from these guys. I’m located out of the country, but they took my order and held the instrument for me in good faith until I was able to pick up the order. I couldn’t be happier with my new rig in Berlin, and can’t wait to get back into town to play it again! Service was great, inventory was fresh, prices were fair. I will definitely be going back to this guitar shop!

There’s 2 stores, one for acoustic guitars and the other for electric ones. There’s a big selection of both expensive, mid range and cheap guitars, including some used ones. The store owner is super chill and let us have our space and play around with different guitars until we found the one we liked. I like this kind of service 🙂
Robert Rodríguez

Nice shop with a great selection of guitars both new and used. I bought a guitar and When i played it, at the hotel, it had at distinct rattling noise. I went back to the shop, and the friendly staff fixed my guitar fast and without fuss. I Would definitely recommend this place!

This is my favourite record store in Berlin for electronic music. Vibe and staff are always top notch, the selection is good and they have enough record players. Note of merit goes to the lady that helped me this morning: I came to buy one record and got out with three. She understood the sound I was looking for and came with different options, from records to labels. Great shop!
Matteo Bresciani

Great record store ! You can pick a few options and listen to them before buying records. You will find less used vinyls in general as I understand, and more new ones. Fair prices I would say.

This is one of the two best record stores of Berlin. The other being Melting Point. Oye has two stores and it has been voted as no.47 In the list of the World’s Best Vinyl Stores by The Vinyl Factory. Why you may ask… three reasons – Toby the owner who is one of the kindest, knowledgable and wonderful people of Berlin…. Secondly, the great collection of records – predominantly dance, house, electro, new age pop BUT they have a huge stash of second hand records of amazing retro rock, OSTs, jazz, blues and more… thirdly, the prices – very generous in their assessment of records – I picked up 13 vinyls for 45 euros incl Beatles Rubber Soul, a double album of The Doors, a triple vinyl of The Last Waltz, two soul records, a Lennon record and more – and the vibe of the store is amazing with several listening stations and boxes of records that you can sift through. Toby you are an absolute sweetheart!! If you are in Berlin – then head to this store at Oderberger Street 4!!
