Call them if possible to install 3d-party ski and bindings – someone said yes.
Come in 3 days on the middle of working day without a sign of another visitors in the show.
– Could you install … ?
– No, you bought it somewhere, we have no time on it (nobody in shop, the man was watching TV probably). Go anyway, I do not care about your call.

Absolutely not recommending that place – the example of “german polite service”.

They have old colleagues who are rude and disturbing. Do not think about going there with your kids, they would be stressed from the first point they see the kids and warn the kids for small things. I could not bear to them more than a few minutes. Just had to tell them that their behaviour is not acceptable and left.

We had to return some ski boots we bought before and the store employees treated us like we were the enemy when they heard this. One of them told us she was impressed by the “stories people can invent” for returning products while rolling her eyes. They told us that we can only take something else from the store but they completely ignored us after that like we were being punished. We had to search through many many pairs of skis by ourselves even if it was clear some employees were free after they finished helping other customers. I have no idea why someone has to be treated like this when spending 500Eur

Wide selections of equipments for skiing and snowboarding! The staffs were helpful especially Mario. He helped me to match what I wanted and helped to work on my budget. He was quite hornet and told the details of each items; low end, medium range and high end, and let me had time to decide. At the end of the day, I was really satisfied for what I got.

Don’t go there. Their sales is not any sles. All articles have increased price and than pretend to be on sale. You can buy everiting on web or in other shops 30-50% cheaper.
On top, if you buy something you can not exchange it or return it . Very unfriendly shop leader.
They are closing shop.

Great professional services. Did purchase a pair of ski boots this year that were shaped to fit my feet perfectly. This was done by heating up the shell to 90-95 degrees and then let it cool once I have put them on. I have skied all season long with the best boots I ever had!
Thank you Ski-Shop-Charlottenburg for this wonderful experience!

Compare the prices before you buy anything there. I could have saved 30-40% if I went to another shop. I got 10% discount after I went and complained. Was definitely not the best experience. 3 stars is for a mediocre customer service

I am not sure why I expected a ski shop in a city far away from the mountains to be decent but this was the most underwhelming shop I have ever been in.

The service in the shop is basically non-existent. We wanted to pay to have a pair of Salomon boots that we had purchased online properly dialed-in since the liner can be customized. The guy did not even make an attempt to make sure the boot was set up well. He merely heated them, had my friend stand for 10 minutes in them and then just forgot about her.

She mentioned that one foot felt twisted and she said she has insoles for her shoes so his response was “then you must need medical insoles for your boots” and then turned away.

Normally a shop with boot fitting experience would work with the client to help solve the issue (we were happy to pay for the service). Here there was no attempt. 20€ later that was that.

No problem with the price but really disappointed with the service and seeming lack of knowledge or caring enough to get a boot properly fitted.

Edited post: From the store’s great response the issue below has been handled and I got my money back for 2 boards I got waxed. I appreciate and commend the response to my review and willingness to find a solution. That’s a lot more compared to other places and shops in this city just straight blaming customers. At least now when I sell the board, the money I got back compensates for the lower value of it. Of course, it is only fair that I revise my rating. Thank you!

Original post: First time I took my equipment in they waxed it with liquid wax when I specifically said I wanted it hot waxed. Second time I brought in my stuff in they dented the top edge of the equipment and took a chunk out of it. They seem nice but I will never take my stuff here ever again. 10 euros for a wax is a good price but it’s not worth the damage done to the board, I should have just waxed it myself and not trusted these people who don’t take care of customer’s equipment. This makes me sad that I can’t support this small local shop when I really want to support them and the community they’re trying to help.

A lovely bunch of people. They offered helpful advice, a fair price, and they even let me watch while they adjusted my skis. My partner was also impressed.

Where can I find ski rentals in Berlin?

Berlin offers several options for ski rentals. Many ski shops are located in popular areas such as Charlottenburg, Friedrichshain, and Kreuzberg. Additionally, some sporting goods stores also provide ski equipment for rent. It’s wise to check online for reviews and ratings to find reputable rental locations.

What types of ski equipment can I rent?

Most ski rental shops in Berlin offer a variety of equipment, including skis, snowboards, ski boots, and helmets. Some places also provide clothing and accessories like goggles and socks. If you are unsure about what you need, the staff can help you select the right gear based on your skill level and preferences.

Do I need to make a reservation for ski rentals?

While many ski rental shops accept walk-in customers, it is always recommended to make a reservation during the peak ski season. This is especially important for popular items or sizes, as they can run out quickly. Making a reservation ensures that you will have your preferred equipment available when you arrive.

What are the rental prices for ski equipment?

Rental prices for ski equipment in Berlin can vary widely depending on the type and quality of the gear. Typically, you might expect to pay around €20 to €50 per day for skis and boots. Snowboards may range from €25 to €60. For longer rentals, such as a week, many shops offer discounts. Always check the shop’s pricing information for specific details.

What should I bring when I pick up my rental equipment?

When picking up your rental equipment, be sure to bring a valid form of identification, such as a passport or ID card. It’s also advisable to have a credit card for the security deposit. Additionally, if you have specific gear preferences, such as specially fitted boots, bring any information regarding your size or preferences.

Can I rent ski equipment if I’m a beginner?

The staff can assist in choosing the right gear, ensuring that you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience on the slopes. Additionally, some shops offer lessons or connections with local instructors if you’re looking to learn.

What is the policy on damage or loss of rental equipment?

Rental shops generally have policies that cover damage or loss of equipment. Make sure to read and understand the terms and conditions before renting. In most cases, you might be held responsible for minor damages, while total loss usually requires payment for the full value of the equipment. Always tell the staff about any existing damage before taking the equipment to avoid being charged for it later.

What if I need to return my equipment early?

If you need to return your rental equipment early, most shops are accommodating but may have specific conditions. You should inform the rental shop in advance. Policies regarding refunds can vary: some may offer a partial refund, while others might charge for the full rental period. It’s best to clarify this during your initial rental.

Are there age restrictions for renting ski equipment?

While many ski rental shops do not have strict age restrictions for renting equipment, they may require that children be accompanied by an adult. Some places offer children’s gear for younger skiers, and age restrictions may vary depending on the type of equipment rented. Always check with the rental provider for their specific policies.

Can I rent ski clothing along with my equipment?

Yes, many ski rental shops in Berlin offer ski clothing for rent alongside equipment. This typically includes jackets, pants, and helmets.
