Update: I was seen about 40 minutes after my appointment time, and the doctor this time listened (unlike the first one 4 months ago). But in order to get the prescriptions, I was supposed to go stand in line for another half hour, which I don’t have time for, so I get to see if anyone answers the phone when I call tomorrow.
Upd. After I read in another review that the clinic tried to censor a comment, I decided to write that they tried to do the same thing to me, claiming that I had never been to the clinic. Although I have been there many times and to different doctors. And every time I told the reception that I needed to make an appointment for a visit in three months, they could not offer me the same doctor I had just been to, every time I had a new doctor and so on three or four times. And it’s not just bad service. The doctors were also in a hurry, they didn’t want to listen, and the attitude was extremely unpleasant.

The answer of “I don’t know” is not acceptable for a doctor who is supposed to be one of the most trained professionals. You have colleagues, ask them. You have a computer, search.
I can only imagine those 4 min of assistance to be motivated by economic reasons. And yes, we all know dermatologists are really struggling economically in this country…

I recently learned about Hautarztpraxis Dr. med. Selina Adler-Herisz und Martina Jäger and was impressed by their commitment to patient care. The staff is reportedly very friendly, making the experience more comfortable for visitors, even during busy hours. While there are reports of longer waiting times, this seems to be a common issue across healthcare facilities nowadays. The eagerness of the team to provide a positive experience outweighs the wait. I have had very painful and frustrating issues with acne for the past 3 years. I saw Dr. Jäger and honestly found her to be friendly and helpful. Despite being very busy and my German being not so great (I tried my best) she was patient, took the time to listen to my issues and offered different treatment paths. She also gave me some tips on products I could try using and supplied me with some samples.
In addition, I found the nurses (or maybe they are called MFAs?) to be friendly and helpful. The front desk staff were not necessarily friendly but I didn’t take it personally. It’s clear to see that the practice is completely overwhelmed with patients and that can’t be easy to deal with at 8:00 on a Friday morning. I only had to chat with them for 30 seconds and then I moved on.
While the waiting times can be frustrating, I feel like this is the case with all medical practices in Berlin right now. It’s not the fault of this specific practice. In addition, they do make it pretty clear on the website that they are aware of and sorry for the waiting times and that one should just arrive at the beginning of consultation hours. It’s an unfortunate but unavoidable reality that they will have to make decisions to stop seeing/accepting patients at some point. To blame the practice for this would be unfair. There is clearly a systemic issue and everyone is paying the price (healthcare workers included).
I feel that it’s important to rate such institutions on matters that they can control and based on the actual care received. Therefore, I must say that my overall experience has been very positive and I will happily be returning in a few weeks for my follow up. And I will make sure to show up early 😉

Dr. Hohmann is a very competent Dermatologist, and luckily also a kind, empathetic and “down to earth” person. She always takes time with me, checks out thoroughly the symptoms, and communicates everything about the problem and the therapy. Never in hurry, always listens to every stupid question I might have.
Unfortunately the Praxis management is bad, and this is the reason so many patients leave furious reviews. The doctor should invest in competent staff and perhaps different structures, to put an end to this.
I gave 5 stars because what matters the most for me is the health treatment, which was until now flawless in my case.
I waited two months for the appointment, they called me same day of appointment and asked me to pay privately even though ‘public insurance’ is written in their web site.
I paid 50 euros and doctor told me that nothing to do with my problem.
I wish I haven’t been there at all.
Frustrating place. Do not go !

I am an immigrant and my German is not good at all and the lady with the black hair in the reception was nice with me and very patient speaking slowly and with kindness.
Dr. Kalodikis was great, although very German speaking with firmness, he was extremely helpful and finally, after one year trying to find a good dermatologist that would actually want to help solve my problem, I finally found one.
I’m glad that he tried to communicate with me in English and had empathy towards my case and how it has affected me. I am looking forward the results and I know that with such a good doctor I will be able to overcome this issue soon! He has not only spent just a few minutes with me, but also heard me, gave me advices and gave me effective treatments instead of not being willing like many doctors do.

The situation is this.
I am a refugee from Ukraine, I made an appointment with a dermatologist a mont ago. Today I came to the term, I was greeted at the reception very unfriendly, they didn’t even say hello. 3 girls sat in silence.
I approached them, greeted them, said my first and last name.
They looked at me sideways, unfriendly.
They took the documents and told to wait.
After some time, they called back to their place and, angry, said that we would not give you an appointment (can not visit a doctor), since the validity of the insurance had expired. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice it.
I recently live in Germany, I do not know the laws and still speak German poorly.
I asked the staff at the reception to help me figure out what to do next with insurance.
They began to get nervous, look at me angrily.
They showed me the number to call. I asked for help, if they could call and ask the insurance company if I could get to the doctor with the insurance number that I have. I don’t speak German well. They refused.
